Description
Samaroli, the storied Italian bottler founded by Silvano Samaroli in 1968, bottled this 12 Year Old in its Coilltean range, a 1994 vintage from American oak cask 10614, an outturn of 392. Miltonduff, the sweet, grassy Speyside raised on the grounds of Pluscarden Abbey and known as a Ballantine's workhorse.
By twelve years the ex-Bourbon cask had integrated with the soft, floral character, caramelised hemicellulose lending toffee alongside the vanilla.
At 45% it shows apple, pear and vanilla over a delicate body. A Coilltean 12.
