Millonario Solera 15 Reserva Especial is a Peruvian rum, column distilled from molasses and matured through a solera system, the fractional blend in which older and younger rums marry over time. The 15 refers to the solera designation rather than a fixed minimum age, and the whole approach here is aimed squarely at softness and easy drinking.

This is openly a sweetened rum and one of the sweeter ones, so it is fairest to describe it as the dessert it is. The nose is full of vanilla, caramel, brown sugar and obvious sweetness, leading to a soft, confected palate of caramel, vanilla and dried fruit, with the sweetness carrying through to a chocolate and sugar finish, occasionally with a leather and tobacco edge as it fades.
