Midori is a melon liqueur whose name means green in Japanese, a nod to its vivid green colour and its fresh, fruity character. Built around the flavour of ripe melon and bottled at 20%, it balances sweet fruitiness against a slightly refreshing acidity, and its bright colour makes it as much a visual tool as a flavour on a back bar geared toward eye catching serves.

The nose is a fruity bouquet led by juicy honeydew melon with a hint of exotic fruit, the palate sweet and refreshing with intense ripe melon and a subtle citrus note, finishing soft, slightly sweet and pleasantly fruity. Behind the bar it brings melon flavour, sweetness and a striking green colour in one pour, which is why it carries the Midori Sour, built with lemon juice and soda, and the Melon Ball, where it joins vodka and orange juice. It also lifts fruity long drinks and tropical serves. Pour it over ice, lengthen it with soda, or use it to colour and sweeten a melon forward cocktail.
