Description
Mezcal Salvadores Espadin Reposado is a certified artesanal mezcal made from 100% Espadin, the cultivated workhorse of Oaxaca, by the Hernandez family at their Casa Palacios distillery in Tlacolula de Matamoros. The family traces its mezcal making to the early 1900s under Tomas Hernandez, with grandson Sal reviving the tradition and registering the brand in 2020. As a reposado it sits in wood for a window of two months to a year, a light rest by mezcal standards.
The Espadin is pit roasted for sweet cooked agave, then double distilled before the cask softens its edges. The wood lends gentle vanilla and a touch of spice without burying the spirit, so warm vanilla, sweet citrus and a subtle oak frame sit over the roasted agave base. At 42% the body stays balanced and integrated, drier and more restrained than the brand's anejo.
