Meteoriten Likör Asteroid Schwarze Johannisbeere

Asteroid is a cassis liqueur built on Meteoriten's own gin, distilled from wild juniper that grows in the Nordlinger Ries, Germany's largest meteorite crater. Dr Karl Scheible created it to reimagine a classic blackcurrant liqueur, threading the fruit's intensity through the resinous, slightly forest-like spice of the local juniper. The result keeps its origins in both name and flavour: ripe cassis sweetness held in check by a bright, fresh acidity and a tart, woody depth underneath.

It pours a deep purple-red, with an intensely fruity nose of ripe blackcurrant, light florals and a hint of juniper resin. The palate is sweet, fruity and full, cassis lifted by fresh acidity, resinous spice and a subtle herbal note; the finish is long and balanced with gentle warmth. Serve it chilled and neat, over ice, or topped with sparkling wine for an effortless berry spritz.
