Mautner Charly’s Cherry Brandy Likör

Charly's Cherry Brandy Liqueur is an Austrian fruit liqueur made by Mautner, built on cherries set over a brandy base and bottled at 20%. In the traditional cherry liqueur manner the fruit carries the flavour while the brandy gives a warmer spirit backbone than a neutral base would, making for a fruity, mildly sweet liqueur with a subtle alcohol lift beneath the cherry.

The nose is fresh cherry with light brandy and a hint of vanilla, the palate sweet and fruity with intense cherry over a fine alcohol note, carried on a velvety texture with light spice, finishing long with soft fruity sweetness. Behind the bar it brings cherry flavour, sweetness and body, which makes it a natural in a Cherry Brandy Sour, a cherry forward Manhattan riff or a fruity long drink, and a useful way to add stone fruit depth to a stirred drink. Pour it neat, slightly chilled or over ice to show the cherry, and keep it on the back bar wherever a recipe reaches for cherry brandy.
