Matusalem Platino

Matusalem is a heritage Dominican brand, and Platino is its young white expression, carrying just a one year statement and rested briefly in ex-bourbon casks. This is a cocktail rum at heart, a light column-still spirit built to mix rather than to sip slowly.

Distilled from molasses in the clean Spanish manner, the nose is citrus-forward with lime, lemon peel and zest, while the palate turns sweet and caramelled with an alcoholic edge that betrays its youth. It is at its best lengthened, the bright citrus and gentle sweetness making it a natural in a punchbowl or a fruit-forward cocktail, where the heat softens and the freshness carries.
