Beniamino Maschio San Pietro Limoncello comes from the Maschio family business in the Veneto, made in the classic Italian way by macerating the peels of sun ripened lemons to draw out their essential oils and natural flavour, then refining the result with lemon juice and a balanced amount of sugar. The lemon zest does the work, giving a bright, fresh citrus liqueur bottled at 28%.
The nose is intense and natural with fresh lemon zest and a subtle sweetness, the palate clear, fresh and balanced with juicy lemon and a harmonious sweetness, the finish fresh, clean and long with a lemony lift. Behind the bar it brings zesty citrus aromatics and a clean sweetness, a way to add bright lemon to a spritz, a sour or a sparkling serve and to balance acidity in summer drinks. The traditional serve is well chilled as a digestif straight from the freezer, and it lengthens with Prosecco into a refreshing aperitif. A clean limoncello for a menu that wants real lemon zest.
