Marzadro Luz Gin Classic Edition

LUZ is the gin from Distilleria Marzadro in Trentino, the fruit of several years spent experimenting with local plants. The whole bill of nine botanicals is grown in the region: juniper, bay leaf, olive, woodruff, rosemary, sage, clary sage, spearmint and lemon. It is a properly Alpine gin, the herb garden and the orchard speaking with one voice.

The nose offers citrus and mint, clean and bright. The palate is fresh and lively, juniper firmly in the lead with hints of lemon, a warming touch of cinnamon spice and a cooling run of mint, the herbs lending savoury depth throughout. The finish stretches out nicely. Serve it with a good tonic and a sprig of rosemary, or stir it into a herbaceous Martini.
