Belasco & Berasategui make this Navarra rosado from Garnacha Tinta, the grape that has long defined the region’s pink wine. The 2024 is fresh and fruit driven, with raspberry, redcurrant and a clean citrus edge.
Description
Belasco & Berasategui produce this rosado in D.O. Navarra, a region in northern Spain with a long tradition of single-grape Garnacha rosé. Garnacha Tinta ripens fully in Navarra's warm, dry summers, while cool nights off the surrounding hills preserve acidity and aromatic freshness; the diurnal range is central to the balance of fruit and lift in the finished wine. The 2024 is made by short maceration on the skins to extract colour and red-fruit character before a cool fermentation in stainless steel, which retains the primary aromatics and keeps the texture crisp. The colour is bright pink. The nose shows raspberry, redcurrant and a touch of white peach, with a floral note of rose. On the palate it is dry and fruit driven, with juicy red berry, a citrus-peel edge and a clean, refreshing finish at 13.5% alcohol. This is a versatile rosé for the table rather than a wine for ageing, and it is at its best within a year or two of the vintage. Serve well chilled at 8 to 10 degrees. It suits grilled prawns, roast chicken and summer salads.
