Mamajuana Kalembú

Mamajuana Kalembu is a Dominican flavoured rum drawing on mamajuana, the island's traditional infusion of rum with herbs, bark and honey. Built on molasses spirit distilled on a column still and bottled at a low 30% ABV, it is a sweet, infused style rather than a dry aged ron. Expect a soft, herbal and lightly spiced character with a honeyed sweetness, in keeping with the mamajuana tradition. This is best understood as a flavoured curiosity for sipping over ice or as a local-style digestif, honest about its sweet, infused nature rather than presented as a conventional aged Dominican spirit.
