Malteco Seco Puro

Malteco Seco Puro is an unaged white rum from Panama, distilled on a column still from fresh sugar cane juice rather than the usual molasses. That cane-juice base gives it a brighter, more vegetal edge than a typical Spanish-style ron blanco.

Bottled at a gentle 37.5%, it is built for mixing, a clean and grassy spirit that should sit happily in highballs and cocktails. Expect fresh cane sweetness and a light, easy body rather than the depth of an aged expression. This is a workhorse white rather than a contemplative pour.
