A 1987 vintage agricole from Maison La Mauny in Martinique, drawn from fresh cane juice and bottled at 43%, a mature single-vintage rhum from one of the island’s heritage houses.
Description
Maison La Mauny Rhum Vieux Agricole Millesime 1987 is a vintage cane juice rhum from La Mauny, a heritage Martinique distillery with roots back to 1749 at Riviere-Pilote. Drawn from the 1987 harvest, it is a single-vintage rhum with considerable age behind it.
Made from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice in the Martinique agricole tradition and bottled at 43%, it reflects long maturation. Aged agricole of this vintage character typically pairs a grassy core with deep vanilla, baking spice, cocoa, leather and well-integrated oak, dry and structured rather than sweet. A bottling like this is as much about its place in the distillery's history as the liquid in the glass.
