Magilligan was Ian Macleod's label for Irish single malt, and behind the name sits Cooley, the Co. Louth independent whose casks fed most Irish bottlings of this era. This limited edition carries the 1991 vintage, was matured for eleven years and given a sherry wood finish before bottling in 2002 for Belgium.

The base maturation in ex-bourbon wood supplies fresh orchard fruit and honey, and the Oloroso finish drapes dried fruit and a nutty warmth over it. Bottled at 46%, it is an easy drinking window on early Cooley distillate, from years when finding any Irish single malt outside the mainstream brands was an event.
