Description
Maestro Dobel 50 Cristalino Extra Anejo is a 100% Blue Weber tequila from the Beckmann family house, made in the valley of Jalisco from agave sourced through a single family estate. As a Cristalino it is an extra anejo that has been aged and then charcoal filtered to strip its colour, arriving crystal clear with platinum reflections while keeping the sweetness of long maturation.
The spirit rests at least three years in American oak and former Spanish sherry casks before filtration removes both bitterness and colour. The nose offers caramel, honey, cooked agave and dried fruit such as fig and quince, with chocolate, tobacco, herbs and lingering vanilla and nutmeg. Distilled in copper pots, the palate is silky and full, with fig, quince, date, pineapple and pumpkin lifted by cinnamon, vanilla and clove into a long finish. The clear appearance reads like a blanco, but this is aged tequila, soft and sweet at 35%.
