Description
Part of the Maca Spiced range from Mauritius, this molasses based rum is spiced and finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, among the sweetest cask types in use. It is a flavoured rum, not a dry aged one, and makes no pretence otherwise.
Expect warm spice layered over the dark raisin, fig and syrup character a PX cask imparts, rich and clearly sweet. At 40% it drinks soft and dessert like, best enjoyed as an after dinner sipper rather than treated as a dry, spirit forward rum.
