Lynus Año de Gracia is a Ribera del Duero Tempranillo from the family estate Lynus Viñedos y Bodegas on the Golden Mile, from a single run of 924 bottles. Thirteen months in French oak give it black cherry, plum, vanilla and a structured, savoury depth.
Description
Lynus Año de Gracia is a single Tempranillo from D.O. Ribera del Duero, made by the young family company Lynus Viñedos y Bodegas in the stretch known as the Golden Mile, the most prized run of the appellation. It is bottled in a single consignment of 924 bottles drawn from the estate's best parcels. Ribera del Duero sits on a high plateau around 800 metres, where the wide gap between hot days and cold nights yields deep colour and ripe black fruit while holding acidity, giving Tempranillo here more grip and concentration than in warmer regions. After fermentation the wine spends thirteen months in French oak barrels, where slow oxygen exchange firms the tannins, adds spice and folds the oak into the fruit. The colour is dense ruby with a purple rim. The nose is black cherry, plum and blackberry over vanilla, baking spice and a savoury, earthy note. The palate is full and structured, with ripe tannins and a long finish carried by the fresh acidity of the plateau. Serve at 16 to 18 degrees, decanted half an hour ahead, with roast meats. It suits grilled red meat and hard cheeses.
