Pazos de Lusco make this Albariño in the Condado de Tea, an inland corner of Rías Baixas. Fruit from Pazo Piñeiro and controlled farms gives a fresh white of green apple, pear and citrus, with the crisp acidity of Atlantic Galicia.

Pazos de Lusco produce this varietal Albariño in Salvaterra do Miño, in the D.O. Rías Baixas, founded in 1996 in the Condado de Tea sub-region. The grapes come from the five hectares of Pazo Piñeiro, a 16th century estate, and other controlled farms nearby. Condado de Tea sits inland along the Miño river, warmer and slightly drier than the coastal Salnés, so the Albariño ripens a touch more fully while keeping the high acidity that defines the region. The granite and alluvial soils drain well and add a mineral thread. The wine is made in a fresh, reductive style to protect the aromatics, without oak, so the fruit stays clean and primary. The colour is pale straw with green glints, and the nose leads with green apple and pear over a delicate citrus of lemon and grapefruit. The palate is bright and medium bodied, the fruit framed by a taut acidity and a faint saline grip on the finish. Serve chilled at 8 to 10 degrees. It suits shellfish, white fish and green salads, and works well as an aperitif.
