Description
Lost Lore Añejo is a 100% Blue Weber tequila from the highlands of Jalisco, produced at the Feliciano Vivanco distillery, NOM 1414, in Arandas under master distiller Sergio Cruz. The name nods to the nearly forgotten family tradition of founder Arturo Lamas, and the line aims to pair deep oak with a still legible agave core. As an añejo it spends at least one year in oak under NOM-006, here stretching from twelve up to thirty six months.
Fermentation runs in stainless tanks, with the house playing classical music to the yeast to encourage steady activity. Maturation in former American white oak whiskey barrels gives warm toffee, vanilla and caramel over clearly cooked agave, dried fruit, orange peel and cinnamon. The palate is silky and almost buttery, layering roasted agave, maple syrup, baking spice and dark chocolate against a quiet honeyed sweetness. The producer states it carries no added colour or sweetener, bottled at 40%.
