Description
Los Danzantes Espadin Reposado is a rested mezcal made from 100% Maguey Espadin (Agave angustifolia Haw.) at the Los Danzantes distillery in Oaxaca. It sits between the house joven and anejo, aged nine months with seventy percent of that time in American white oak and thirty percent in French white oak, casks used solely by Los Danzantes.
The wood is present but restrained. Subtle, elegant aromas carry smoky and earthy accents alongside vanilla and maple syrup, while the palate is soft and lightly smoky with a thread of oak and a warm, gentle finish. American oak lends the vanilla and sweet roundness and French oak adds a tighter, spicier grip, yet the roasted Espadin still reads underneath. Bottled at 43%, it keeps barrel character secondary to the agave.
