A single cask, cask strength agricole from Longueteau in Guadeloupe, distilled from fresh cane juice on a creole column and bottled at a robust 51.2%, the Symphonie line aged just enough to round the grassy core.
Description
Part of Longueteau's Symphonie range, this Batch 12 comes from Guadeloupe's oldest family owned agricole house, drawn from a single cask and bottled at full strength. It is made from fresh pressed sugar cane juice, not molasses, and distilled on a column still in the island tradition.
At 51.2% and from one cask, expect concentration and grip. The agricole house style runs grassy and herbaceous at its core, gaining vanilla, light baking spice and toasted oak with time in barrel, drier and more spice forward than a sweet molasses rum. A few drops of water open the cane character.
