A young Guadeloupe agricole at 45 percent, soft and easygoing, with fresh sugarcane, mild honey, candied citrus and a gentle peppery wood note that makes it a relaxed everyday pour rather than a deep, contemplative sipper.
Description
Longueteau is the oldest family owned agricole distillery still running in Guadeloupe, working from the Belle Vue estate since 1895, and Souvenir La Tradition is its gentle, accessible side. Made from fresh pressed sugarcane juice and rested three years in ex bourbon oak, it sits under Guadeloupe IGP rules rather than the stricter Martinique AOC, but the cane juice DNA is the same.
Distilled on a column still and bottled at an unhurried 45 percent, this leans soft and round. The nose carries cane, candied fruit and a discreet peppery edge, the palate adds gentle caramel and wood over the sugarcane, and the finish stays light and clean. It is honest about what it is, a mild, easy drinking agricole built for casual sipping and, above all, for Ti Punch, where its softness and freshness do their best work rather than asking to be studied neat.
