Longueteau Punch Schrubb

This Punch Schrubb comes from Longueteau on Guadeloupe, the oldest family owned agricole distillery still running on the island, here making the traditional Creole schrubb. The base is a cane juice rum infused with bitter orange peel and spice, a festive drink with deep roots in the French islands.

Schrubb is built to be soft, aromatic and orange led rather than dry, so this reads as a gently sweet, citrus forward pour. At 25 percent it is easygoing and dessert leaning, the kind of bottle served chilled or over ice, traditionally around Christmas. Honest framing matters: this is a flavoured rum rather than a neat agricole, made for relaxed, fragrant sipping.
