Longueteau Original Spicy

Longueteau is the oldest family-owned agricole distillery on Guadeloupe, but this Original Spicy is a flavoured, spiced rum rather than a traditional agricole, built on a cane-juice base and infused with vanilla and warming spice, then bottled at 40%. It is a sweetened, flavour-led drink and is honestly approached as one.

The spicing leads throughout: the nose offers vanilla, spice and nutmeg, and the palate carries vanilla, dried fruit and nutmeg with a soft, round body, before a spicy finish. This is an easy, gently sweet sipper that leans toward cocktails and long drinks rather than neat contemplation, where the vanilla and spice can fold into mixers.
