Description
Longueteau GENESIS Collection White Batch 4 2020 is a high-strength blanc from Longueteau, the oldest family-owned agricole distillery still running in Guadeloupe, working at the Esperance estate. Produced from red cane grown on a single plot at the habitation, harvested in 2020 and rested before bottling, it lands at a formidable 73.8%.
As a brut de colonne it is drawn off the column at full strength, made from fresh-pressed cane juice and distilled low to keep the grassy, vegetal congeners intact. The aromatics are huge: fresh sugarcane, citrus, pepper, green olive and a light saline edge, with an oily texture and a long, dry, distinctly cane-driven finish. The strength is part of the appeal, and a splash of water or a Ti Punch lets the cane brightness and salinity stretch out.
