Longueteau Blanc Classic Collection Le 55

Longueteau, founded in 1895, is the oldest family-owned agricole distillery still running in Guadeloupe, and this Blanc Classic Collection Le 55 is its unaged white at a robust 55%. Made from fresh-pressed sugar cane juice rather than molasses, it follows the local custom of bottling blancs at higher strength to carry the cane character.

Left unaged so the spirit speaks directly, it leads on intense fresh sugarcane with bright citrus and a floral lift on the nose. The palate is warm and intense with a surprising note of berries alongside the cane, and the finish turns oily and warm with caramel sweetness and more florals. The higher proof amplifies the aromatics rather than dominating them. A vivid, expressive Guadeloupe blanc that makes an excellent backbone for a Ti Punch or a stirred agricole serve.
