A fresh Guadeloupe agricole blanc from Longueteau, unaged and built on estate cane juice, snapping with sugar cane, lime and green vegetal notes, oily and peppery through a grassy, dry finish at 40%.
Description
Longueteau is the oldest family-owned agricole distillery still running on Guadeloupe, distilling from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice grown on its own estate. This Blanc 40 is the unaged expression bottled at 40%, the purest window onto the house style, sitting under the Guadeloupe IGP rather than the Martinique AOC but firmly in the cane-juice tradition.
Distilled on a creole column run low to retain the green congeners, it delivers the freshness and snap that define a good blanc. The nose is all sugar cane, lime and fresh vegetal greenery, the palate brings sugar cane, citrus and lime peel with a vegetal core, and the finish runs oily, spicy and grassy. Dry and lively rather than sweet, it is the canonical base for a Ti Punch, where lime and a touch of cane syrup let the raw cane character shine. A clean, no-frills introduction to Guadeloupe agricole.
