Description
Gordon & MacPhail, the Elgin house founded in 1895, held some of the deepest Longmorn stocks of any bottler. The Private Collection holds G&M's oldest and rarest casks; this 57 Year Old, a 1961 vintage from cask 512, is an outturn of just 100 bottles at near-cask strength.
Fifty-seven years across Oloroso and American oak matured the rich spirit to a profound old age, the sherry lending dried fruit while the angel's share thinned the cask and eased it toward 40%.
At 40.8% it shows the deep, mellow maturity of nearly six decades, dried fruit worn to silk. A 1961 Private Collection rarity.
