Gordon & MacPhail, the Elgin house founded in 1895, held some of the deepest Longmorn stocks of any bottler. This 48 Year Old is a 1967 vintage Licensed Bottling from Oloroso cask 4645, nearly five decades of the rich spirit.
Forty-eight years in Oloroso built profound sherried maturity, the cask's melanoidins giving dried fruit and a nutty depth.
At 43% it shows chocolate, citrus, dried and fresh fruit, hay and a nutty character. A 1967-vintage rarity.
