Description
Gordon & MacPhail, the Elgin house founded in 1895, held some of the deepest Longmorn stocks of any bottler. This 48 Year Old is a 1964 vintage Licensed Bottling matured in Oloroso, nearly five decades from G&M's deepest Longmorn stocks.
Forty-eight years in Oloroso built profound sherried depth, the cask's melanoidins giving dried fruit and a leathery, nutty maturity.
At 43% it shows dried fruit, a sherried character, chocolate, leather, a cooked-mash depth and tobacco. A 1964-vintage rarity.
