Gordon & MacPhail, founded in Elgin in 1895, kept some of the deepest Longmorn stocks anywhere. This Celtic Series 44 Year Old is a 1966 vintage from Oloroso cask 612, an outturn of 278 bottles for Japan, where Longmorn has a devoted following.
Forty-four years in Oloroso built deep sherried maturity, the cask's melanoidins giving dried fruit.
At 46.8% it shows cooked and dried fruit over Longmorn's worn richness, undiluted. A 1966 Celtic Series.
