Silver Seal, an Italian independent, bottles this 30 Year Old as a Special Bottling, a 1981 vintage Longmorn in ex-Bourbon, an outturn of 205 bottles.
Thirty years in ex-Bourbon matured the rich spirit deeply, the oak's caramelised hemicellulose giving a soft toffee alongside vanilla.
At 50.3% it shows deep mature orchard fruit and vanilla over Longmorn's richness, undiluted. A Silver Seal 30.
