Description
The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, founded at The Vaults in Leith in 1983, codes its bottlings rather than naming distilleries, 7 being Longmorn. This 20 Year Old is a 1992 vintage, titled French patisserie in a bluebell wood, an outturn of 293 bottles.
Twenty years in ex-Bourbon matured the weighty Longmorn make, the low-tannin oak lending vanilla and a light toffee and a creamy sweetness.
At 53.6% it shows a pastry-like sweetness over Longmorn's mature fruit, undiluted. A Society 7.78.
