Ian Macleod Distillers, owner of Glengoyne and Tamdhu, bottles this 15 Year Old in its Chieftain's range for a German society, a 1994 vintage matured across ex-Bourbon, European oak and Oloroso, cask 90152, an outturn of 660 bottles.
Fifteen years across the three woods layered vanilla from the bourbon, structure from the European oak and dried fruit from the Oloroso over the rich spirit.
At 56.2% it shows layered fruit, vanilla and a sherried depth over Longmorn's body, undiluted. A Chieftain's 15.
