Description
This Special Edition is Long Pond's own ITP-15 from 2006, a 15 Year Old at 45.7% distilled on the distillery's John Dore pot still in Trelawny. Long Pond is the historic Wedderburn house, and this estate bottling leans toward its more refined side rather than its polarising extremes.
Where younger Long Pond can be loud, this is elegant: overripe banana and tropical fruit meet vanilla, caramel, cocoa and dry spice over moderate oak, with a spicy, coffee tinged finish. Matured in Ex-Bourbon oak and bottled unsweetened at a sippable strength, it is built for balance more than brute power. A relaxed, polished pour for drinkers who enjoy Jamaican character but prefer it softer and more integrated than the big cask strength releases.
