Description
Long Pond Kill Devil 1998 is a single cask Jamaican rum distilled at the Long Pond distillery in Trelawny in 1998 and bottled at 23 years old by Hunter Laing for its Kill Devil range. Long Pond is a historic Wedderburn house, the funky and fruit-forward end of Jamaica, so expect overripe tropical fruit, a touch of rubber and brine, and the divisive hogo that defines the estate.
Matured in ex-bourbon oak and bottled at 42.2%, this is a continental-aged single cask in the Kill Devil idiom, non-chill-filtered and natural. The long age and gentle proof point to a softer, more rounded expression of Long Pond, with vanilla and dried fruit from the bourbon barrel framing the estate's pot still fruit.
