The Awakening Series shows Lochlea's spirit at a little more age, this a 5 year old from 2020 in Oloroso, an outturn of 283 bottles at cask strength. From the Ayrshire farm distillery.
Five years in Oloroso lend dried fruit through the cask's melanoidins and a dry grip through its tannins, full strength keeping it concentrated.
At 59.6% it shows chocolate, dried fruit, leather, a nutty, oily depth and old wood, a richer, more mature Lochlea. An Awakening Series 5.
