This Single Cask, number 156, is a 4 year old Lochlea from a 2018 vintage matured in ex-Bourbon, a tiny outturn of 239 bottles at cask strength for the UK. The distillery's own barley, cleanly framed.
Four years in ex-Bourbon let the low-tannin American oak lend vanilla and a soft sweetness, the distillery's barley character clear beneath.
At 60.4% it shows the clean orchard fruit and vanilla of the house style, undiluted. An ex-Bourbon single cask 4.
