Description
The Ploughing Edition is the smoky member of Lochlea's seasonal Crop series, the distillery's first peated whisky, matured with ex-Islay and peated quarter casks. This First Crop is an outturn of 11,000 bottles, tied to the turning of the year's soil.
A turn in peated casks lends a gentle smoke over the bourbon-matured spirit, guaiacol and phenols carrying the reek while the oak gives vanilla beneath.
At 46% it shows citrus and a malty note over a light wood smoke, gentle and warming. The First Crop Ploughing.
