Description
Batch 3 of Lochlea Cask Strength is matured in Oloroso, the distillery's own-barley spirit given a deeper sherried turn. From the Ayrshire farm distillery on Burns's old land.
Maturation in Oloroso lends dried fruit, the cask's melanoidins giving fig and raisin and its tannins a polished grip, full strength keeping it concentrated.
At 59.8% it shows dried fruit, leather, a cooked-mash depth, a mossy note and a faint kippery edge over fresh fruit, undiluted. A sherried cask strength Lochlea.
