Description
Inchfad is Loch Lomond's heavily peated island malt, a bold, smoky style rarely bottled. This single cask, number 666 from a 2001 vintage, is a young Distillery Select release, an outturn of 350 bottles.
Five years in American oak leave the spirit largely undimmed, the low-tannin oak lending a little vanilla beneath a thick peat.
At 45% it shows dense peat smoke and ash over a sweet barley core, guaiacol and phenols carrying the heavy reek, young and vigorous. A young heavily peated Inchfad.
