Loch Lomond Heavily Peated

Heavily Peated is Loch Lomond pushed toward smoke, a no-age-statement single malt showing how far the distillery can take peat. The same site that makes the floral Inchmurrin makes this.

Matured in ex-Bourbon, the low-tannin oak lends a vanilla counter to a heavily peated malt whose smoke comes through the distillery's stills.

At 40% it shows wood smoke, tobacco and a cooked-vegetable, toasted edge over a malty core, guaiacol and phenols carrying the heavy reek. A smoky Loch Lomond.
