Description
Liverpool Organic Dry Gin comes from The Sovereign Distillery in the heart of the city, made entirely from organic botanicals: juniper, coriander seed, cardamom, angelica root, liquorice root, cassia bark and orange peel. Rather than throwing everything into one still, the distillery macerates and distils each botanical individually to draw out its character fully, then blends the separate spirits into a single harmonious whole. With no synthetic pesticides or fertilisers in the chain, the flavour reads pure and natural.
The nose is led by intense juniper, fresh citrus and a hint of spicy cardamom. The palate is complex and balanced, juniper and citrus to the front, earthy angelica root beneath and a subtle liquorice sweetness rounding it out. The finish is long and smooth with a gentle, spiced warmth. Lovely in a classic G&T with an orange twist, or alongside grilled garlic-and-lemon prawns.
