Description
Hart Brothers has bottled single casks from Glasgow since the 1960s. The cask was filled in 1990 and bottled in 2018, a 28 year old Littlemill, from cask 151011, part of the Single Cask - Cask Strength series. A finite legacy from a vanished distillery, growing rarer with each bottling.
A turn in Oloroso over twenty-eight years folds the cask through the lost distillery's soft spirit.
At its natural 51.2%, the Oloroso brings sultana, walnut and warm spice. It carries citrus, dried fruit, a hay-like note, honey, a leafy lift, a savoury note. Residual wine and caramelised hemicellulose layer dried fruit and spice over the light spirit, the tannins adding structure. Great age in a dunnage warehouse means the angel's share has taken much of the cask and gently lowered the strength, concentrating what remains.
