Description
The Vintage Malt Whisky Company, a Glasgow family firm, bottles the Cooper's Choice single casks. Distilled in 1985 and bottled in 2013, this is a 28 year old Littlemill, from cask 104, in The Cooper's Choice range. Once these casks are gone, Littlemill is gone with them.
From an ex-Bourbon cask, twenty-eight years draw out the delicate Lowland spirit.
Bottled at 46%, the American oak frames the fruit with vanilla. A gentle, fruity Lowland malt, fragrant and clean. A refill barrel works slowly: vanillin for vanilla, lactones for coconut, and oxidation building soft orchard fruit. Long maturation has cost the cask dearly to the angels, easing the alcohol and leaving a deeper, concentrated spirit.
