Germany's Whisky Agency is prized for its single casks and illustrated labels. This 27 year old Littlemill came off the stills in 1992 and was bottled in 2020. Every release draws down a finite store that can never be replenished.
Matured in ex-Bourbon, twenty-seven years carry its creamy-fudge Lowland sweetness.
At its natural 52.3%, the ex-Bourbon adds vanilla and a honeyed oak note. Expect fresh fruit, a leafy lift, a malt note, new wood, vanilla. Oak lactones and lignin-derived vanillin build the vanilla-and-coconut signature, the gentle American-oak tannins keeping it soft. Long maturation has cost the cask dearly to the angels, easing the alcohol and leaving a deeper, concentrated spirit.
