Description
Gordon & Company is a historic Glasgow bottling and blending name. This bottling is a 27 year old Littlemill, from cask 130, laid down in 1988 and drawn off in 2015, part of The Pearls of Scotland series. A finite legacy from a vanished distillery, growing rarer with each bottling.
Matured in ex-Bourbon, twenty-seven years carry the lost distillery's soft spirit.
Bottled at cask strength, 54.2%, the ex-Bourbon brings vanilla and a touch of coconut. Expect grassy freshness, honey and a creamy vanilla sweetness. The refill ex-Bourbon gives up vanillin and lactones slowly, framing the light spirit with vanilla and coconut rather than swamping it. Decades of slow evaporation have softened the strength and concentrated the fruit, the price of great age in a damp warehouse.
