Description
The Whisky Agency is a German independent celebrated for its illustrated single-cask labels. A 26 year old Littlemill, this was distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2015. The stocks are finite and dwindling, a closed distillery's legacy measured out cask by cask.
Aged twenty-six years in ex-Bourbon, the oak lifts the lost distillery's soft spirit.
Bottled undiluted at 51.2%, the ex-Bourbon brings vanilla and a touch of coconut. On the palate, a leafy lift. Furfural from the toasted oak lends a faint almond note, lignin the vanilla, the low tannins a soft frame. A quarter-century and more of angel's share has slowly lowered the strength, the humid warehouse favouring alcohol over water.
