Description
The Auld Alliance is a Singapore whisky bar and bottler named for the historic Franco-Scottish bond. This 25 year old Littlemill came off the stills in 1992 and was bottled in 2018. Every release draws down a finite store that can never be replenished.
Held in ex-Bourbon for twenty-five years, the oak settles the lost distillery's soft spirit.
Bottled undiluted at 48.4%, vanilla and a gentle oak sweetness from the bourbon cask. A delicate, floral character, silky and gently sweet. A refill barrel works slowly: vanillin for vanilla, lactones for coconut, and oxidation building soft orchard fruit. After so long, much of the cask has gone to evaporation, the surviving spirit slowly dropping in strength as alcohol outpaces water in the humid air.
