Jack Wiebers Whisky World is a German independent with a long catalogue of single casks. Distilled in 1990, this 24 year old Littlemill was bottled in 2014. Nothing new will ever come from Bowling, which makes survivors like this increasingly hard to find.
Twenty-four years in ex-Bourbon frame the fine, fruity Littlemill make.
Bottled undiluted at 52.3%, the bourbon cask lends vanilla and creamy fudge. The profile runs to a fragrant note, fresh fruit, honey, a dry sandy note, a solvent note, a toasted note. Long oxidation coaxes fruity esters from the spirit, the ex-Bourbon's vanillin and lactones adding vanilla and coconut.
